Costa Rica

This was a long awaited trip and out of all the options available, Costa Rica seemed to be the most recommended and easiest to get to. I’ve never been to a tropical rain forest, so was really looking forward to being there. I was prepared for extreme humid conditions, lots of rains, difficult hikes, good food and running into some wildlife I’ve only glimpsed upon on Discovery Channel. Frankly, I’m not too much into either the birds or bird photography, for which the places I was going to are famous for but doing this the first time was bound to be fun and something I could check off my list.

Pratt Lake

Me and Venky decided to this without much planning. The pics available online looked pretty good and the trail wasn’t too difficult. It was just long. Too long. Acutally, 12 mile doesn’t sound that bad but when its just dense forest for about 99 percent of the hike, boredom gets to you. Its a good way to just get lost in thought because, as I said, the trail is more of a stroll and there’s nothing much to see.

Centennial park run

Went on my second run at Centennial park. This time it was about 6.5km, much shorter than the last one(10k) but the timing was slightly better. I underestimated the weather and so finally gave up before 10k. From Travelogue From Travelogue From Travelogue

Mt Si Hike

Starting with this post, I’ll add not more than 3 pics of any trip I go on. I finally ended up doing this because – I hate posting stuff on facebook – I hate having albums with gazillion photos in them – I like to keep hard copies of some photos and the pics here will fall into that exclusive category – and most importantly, this will be EXACTLY what I want to keep a memory of …

Ride to Chitradurga Fort

I had spent too much time since my last bike trip and last weekend decided to finally do it. This time I wanted it to be a bit different in some way or the other and after much mulling, I went for making this one a longer ride than usual. The destination was around 220Km so that would make a round trip of 440KM, which if done correctly, could be accomplished before lunchtime.

Ride to Krishnagiri Dam

Taking lessons from my previous experience and reading up a bit about to-do-and-donts before embarking upon any bike rides, I prepared myself for this one. Although it was still a small one(210 Kms) but I wanted to be as prepared as I could. So the day before, I got some spares like accelerator and clutch cables and an extra tube. Also added to the inventory was a first-aid box and some clothing that makes sitting for a long periods of time on a bike much much comfortable.

Ride to Anchetty

I was craving a good bike ride for a week and looked over a whole bunch of places which ended up getting into the ‘list’ but it was hard to shortlist on one thing to do this weekend. I had to be somewhere, that was for sure. So while scouring old posts on a biking forum, I came across the following ride which was around 200KM with some nice roads through forests and villages.

Trip to Savandurga Hill

So this was the first non-bike trip I decided to take, mostly because of the proposition by my good friend, Mitesh to use his car instead. The plan was finalized late Saturday night, as we did manage to wake up at 4:00 AM sharp. Not that we had to be far off, the destination was just about 60 KM from my house. Mitesh lost his way when picking me up and we hit the highway about 20 minutes late than expected.

Ride to Madhugiri Fort

It was after about one and half year I got a chance to venture out on a long ride on my bike. I’ve been wanting to do so for a long time but something or the other became a hurdle(yep, that DOES sound like the most common cliche). The distance from my place, as given by google maps was about 125 kms. There were a couple of options on which route to take, and I(randomly) chose the following one.

A day out in Seattle

After a long, tiring and extremely eventful week, I decided to spend a day to explore the more tourist-y places in Seattle. The destination in mind was downtown Seattle with a stopover for breakfast. So it was about 10.30 I reached at Glo’s Cafe(http://gloscafe.com/) for my third visit there. Its a quaint little place near the intersection of Olive St and Denny Wy. One think to keep in mind before going there on Saturday or Sunday mornings is the wait.
